Light Night Leeds is the UK’s largest annual arts and light festival. Over two incredible nights in October the festival takes over the city centre of Leeds, transforming public spaces with spectacular artworks and captivating live shows by local, national and international artists. Light Night invites people to see the city in a new light and discover large-scale light projections, interactive installations, music, dance and street theatre. In 2019 more than 100,000 people attended over 60 free arts events celebrating the theme of ‘Mind, Body and Spirit’.
The Arts Development team at Leeds City Council
Light Night Leeds is curated and produced by the Arts Development team at Leeds City Council. The Arts Development team supports arts organisations across the city through arts@leeds grants, and delivers a programme of cultural events throughout the year including Light Night Leeds, Holocaust Memorial Day and Armed Forces Day. The team aims to create opportunities for local people to take part in the cultural life of the city, support local artists and arts organisations working in communities, and promote partnership working within the arts and cultural sector.
