Leeuwarden, The Netherlands
LUNA stands for ‘Leeuwarden Urban Night Adventure’, a surprising artistic nightwalk through the streets of the city centre of Leeuwarden/NL. There is no fixed route that visitors can follow, but the idea is that through finding their own way and path along the artprojects, they also discover and experience the city from new angles.
The programme of LUNA is a carefully curated mix of bigger, low-threshold projects that appeal to a broad audience, and more experimental presentations.
With LUNA, we present light-, sound and media art in public space in order to stimulate artistic production in our region (North of the Netherlands), stimulate encounters between regional and international artists, and last but not least to entertain a broad audience and enhance public appreciation.
Media Art Friesland Foundation
LUNA is organized by Media Art Friesland Foundation, a small committed team of creative producers and media artists who aim to bring media arts (including light art) to a broad audience. LUNA is part of Media Art Festival, the annual presentation of the best emerging media artists from the the Netherlands and outstanding makers from other countries.
