The Bella Skyway Festival is the oldest light festival in Poland, organized continuously since 2009 and attracting over 400,000 viewers annually. The festival is a unique combination of the beauty of Gothic architecture, light art and scientific inspirations. The event is outdoor, open and non-commercial. Bella Skyway Festival allows to emphasize an innovative value of an art and science in the life of the community.

Every year in August for 6 nights, works of artists from around the world illuminates the Medieval Town of Toruń, which has the UNESCO World Heritage List designation. The event uses the entire range of the artistic means of expressions – from the subtle installations to use of the latest audio-video techniques, including advanced forms of 3D mapping, which leave viewers an unforgettable experience.

The Toruń light festival has been recognized both in Poland and abroad. Among the many awards we can speak, among others EFFE Label 2017-2018 awarded by the European Festivals Association, the Best Tourist Product of 2014, awarded by the Polish Tourist Organization, the Best Tourist Product of the Region 2014 and the title of the Ambassador of Toruń Tourism. Furthermore, Since 2016, the main media patronage is guaranteed by National Geographic, a leading popular science channel.

Bella Skyway Festival is one of the founders of the International Light festival Organisation.

Toruń Cultural Agency
Organizer of Bella Skyway Festival was established in 2009, when Toruń began to compete for the title of European Capital of Culture. Rebranded in 2011 as Toruń Cultural Agency, institution currently organizes the largest cultural events in Toruń, spectacular outdoor events, concerts and festivals of international importance (Bella Skyway Festival, Art Festival of Fact) and nationwide importance (Street Theater Festival, Fun Archipelago – Festival for Kids). Every year, events organized by the institution attract the interest of over 500 000 viewers. The institution also conducts numerous educational activities, supports non-governmental organizations and local artists representing various fields of art.
