Kate Harvey is Director of Projects for Artichoke managing the organisation’s large-scale productions and temporary installations in the public realm. She has extensive experience in the field of light art as lead producer for Lumiere in Durham (8 editions 2009-2023) London Derry-Londonderry (2013) London 2016 and 2018. Within her role, Kate has worked with artists to produce over 80 new light art commissions and planned events in collaboration with multiple stakeholders and city agencies including tourism, transport and emergency services. She has responsibility for embedding sustainability across Artichoke’s projects.

With a background in theatre directing, she relishes the challenge of creating experiences that speak to the widest possible audiences and make an emotional connection between people and the built or natural environment in which they are set.
